Helloooooo Everyone!
This is Elder Gold reporting to you live from Glenn Dale, MD!
So as I'm sure everyone knows, the government shut down :0! Which kinda sucked for us today because,
for those of you who don't know (which i sure you all do), 99% of the
museums and most of all national parks out here are run by the
government. So because the government shut down, the D.C. Mall with all the
Smithsonian museums were shut down as well. So we couldn't really do a lot
today. We even tried to drop by the Goddard NASA visitors' center and it was closed. Sooooo, we decided to go to an airplane museum instead which is run by UMD
(University of Maryland)! It was super fun! We were there all day
pretty much! We also got a lot of super sweet pictures! I
have to grab them from the ZL's though. I forgot my camera
and so they are just going to send them to me. There were a lot of
interactive things to do there! We had a ton of fun!
After we were done with that, we decided to go play frisbee at the frisbee golf course that was next door to the Airplane Museum. Unfortunately, we only had these tiny discs that were actually made to be markers for frisbee golf (when you only have one real frisbee). It was way fun though because sometimes the "hole" was super far away so we had to throw it really hard to get it somewhat close. It was the best!
So I had a little bit of card trouble this week and so I have no money! I don't know what happened. I had to use my mission card to pay for gas because we didn't have our gas card with us. So I checked it and it said I had $160. I started pumping and it only went to $10, then stopped. I went inside and had the gas station guy try it in there. It was denied 3 times. So I called the Mission money guy and told him what happened. He said that the money was for sure deposited so he had to call SLC and see what was wrong. So until I hear back I have no money.
We had a great lesson with Gaby this past week! We taught
her about repentance, baptism, some of the law of chastity and a
little bit of what the spirit world is. That was in a couple of lessons.
She is really accepting everything and notices a difference in her life
because of it. She is on date for Oct 20th now though
because we want her to go to church at least 3 times before she gets baptized. If
we didn't move it back, conference would have been one of those days. I
really think she'll get baptized :)
Well that was all that happened this week! I love you all!
