Work hard...Play hard... (1/20/2014)

Hey everyone!!

So this past week almost nothing happened...EXCEPT!!!! Saturday night, we where over at the Watson's home  to help with some service. They are trying to move, so we have been  helping them get stuff into a storage. We went over Saturday at around 3:30 pm and got done with service around 5:30 pm. Then Sister Watson asked if we had dinner with anyone tonight, which we didn't, so they made us dinner as well.  By the time we're done eating it's probably like 6:30. Brother Watson then asked if we could teach the first lesson to his family so his boys could start getting use to the discussions. So of course we said we would love to. Then, Sister Watson said,  "We should try to see if Bruce can come over to listen to the lesson!"
Now Brother Watson has had a couple of people in mind that he has been wanting to share the gospel with and Bruce, his neighbor, is one of these people. So Brother Watson calls him up and asks if he could come over to listen to the lesson we where about to share with his family. Unfortunately Bruce wasn't able to come because he and his family were in the middle of making their dinner, but they wanted to come another time, which I thought was cool in and of it's self.
So we went on with the lesson for the Watson family and taught them the restoration. Well in the middle of the lesson, Brother Watson's phone had gone off, so he waited till the end of the lesson to answer. While we where playing a short game of Red Light-Green Light with their kids, Brother Watson read the message and it was from Joe, another one of his friends, and he had invited Brother Watson to go over and hang out with him.  Brother Watson has been trying to share the gospel with him, so Brother Watson replied and said he would love to come over and asked if it was ok if the missionaries came over too.  Joe said, "Sure that would be great!!".
We went over, just talked for a while and got to know him. It was getting pretty late at that point, so Brother Watson was like "Hey we actually have to get going soon, these guys have a curfew that they have to keep."  Joe asked what our curfew was. We told him that if we weren't teaching anyone we had to head home at 8:30 pm, but if we were teaching someone, then we head home at 9.  Brother Watson, being a genius, played off of that and said "Well hey if you do want to talk more these guys could share the first lesson that they teach."  Joe was like "Sure! that's fine" (but in a good way). So we sat back down around the fire pit because it was freezing cold and I was still in shorts from having helped the Watsons move, and we taught him the first lesson!! It was such an awesome experience!!  He was very receptive to the lesson and answered the questions that we asked with actual thought and feeling. We invited him to come to church this coming Sunday, so we'll have to see how that turns out!!  It was super awesome!
Then, I think it was Thursday we went over to the McCombs' house to see how Brother McCombs was doing because he had just had surgery.  We were visiting him and gave him a get-well card, then one thing led to another and we ended up in an all out nerf-gun war!! Ha!  That was awesome!!  Brother McCombs took pictures and Sister McCombs and their 4 kids were all in the war!!!  It was epic!!!   I'll have to see if i can get pictures :)
Well I love you all and I hope you're all doing well!!  Until next time.....
Love,
Elder Gold
