Hello My Beloved Friends and Family!
.
.
So first off I would like to apologize for not writing last week. It was one of the busiest p-days I have had on my mission! I think we were home once! We went to the gym and then came home for like five minutes to get something to eat and then we were out the rest of the day. We went to the Gap, and went over to our ward-mate's apartment and hung out for a while. Then we went to the Mall and and later to our dinner appointment. We got back close to 9:00 pm. I was so tired, I got into bed and just passed out. So that's my excuse for not writing.

This week was decent. We found out that our investigator Anthony is kinda shady. Anthony was introduced to the gospel through some missionaries in Virginia at his work. Also for those of you who didn't know, we had put Anthony on date for September 7th to get baptized... yeah that didn't happen. Those missionaries gave us a call to see if he was still going to be baptized. We told them no, because Anthony hadn't been to church at all since we began teaching him. The other Elders were extremely surprised because I guess he had been telling them that he had been going. So they said that they would talk to him and let us know what was going on. We are waiting for that call before we meet with Anthony again. If they don't call within the next few days then we'll probably meet with him and talk to him about it.

Then, the other highlight was that we have had a recent convert family. They appeared to have gone less active due to their work schedules. The entire time that I have been with Bodda we haven't been able to get in contact with them. We would drop by and call all the time and no one would ever answer. Then last Saturday we were checking on a referral that lives close to them and we decided that after we visited with this referral, we would go drop by again to see if we could catch them at home. And they were! We finally caught them on a day that they had both taken a vacation day! We were able to talk to them and set up a time to go back and teach them the lessons again. They never received all the new member lessons so we are going to teach them those. Our first appointment with them was actually Sunday, the next day. It went really well considering it was super condensed because their kids had to go to bed soon. We tried to set up another appointment, but they said the next time they have an open day is two weeks from Sunday. Most likely I will be gone by then, but I am sure Bodda and the new Elder will do great.

The plans for today (today being p-day of course) is a BBQ! We were going to have a zone luau, but we decided that would be too much work and money. So instead we just decided to do a smaller BBQ with us and our ward mates and their roommates, the French Elders.. We're just gonna eat, relax, sleep, email, have a blast. Haha it's going to be so much fun, and I get to cook! I marinated some burgers in Worcestershire sauce over night and they are going to be super good!

Well thanks everyone for the love and prayers. I hope you all had a great week and have a great one to come! I miss you all. Also something cool I wanted to share with you from my studies, and just some good food for thought!
2 Nephi 10:3-5
3 Wherefore, as I said unto you, it must needs be expedient that Christ--for in the last night the angel spake unto me that this should be his name--should come among the Jews, among those who are the more wicked part of the world; and they shall crucify him--for thus it behooveth our God, and there is none other nation on earth that would crucify their God.
4 For should the mighty miracles be wrought among other nations they would repent, and know that he be their God.
5 But because of priestcrafts and iniquities, they at Jerusalem will stiffen their necks against him, that he be crucified.
I find it interesting that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ knew that the atonement had to be completed in Jerusalem because that was the only place that would be willing to crucify him. Had it been anywhere else they would have immediately recognized him as being the son of God and would have changed their ways. It's very similar to how the restoration began. God knew that the restoration had to happen someplace where there was religious freedom. The only country, as far as I know, to have that was the United States! Thus, the restoration had to happen here or everyone would have rejected it. It couldn't have been established anywhere else because there would not have been any religious freedom to do so. The government would have stopped it in a heartbeat. GOD KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING!!!
Have a great week!
